Blue Carbon
ThinkAqua has been exploring the carbon footprint of aquaculture and supporting industry to develop practical solutions to reduce carbon and increase efficiency.
>> With support from IDH The Sustainable Trade Initiative, we led a project to understand what drives the direct emissions of greenhouse gases from shrimp ponds. This question was raised by the leading company members of the IDH Aquaculture Working Group to help them add actually values into carbon footprinting tools that currently only estimate this. The project was delivered with industry partners in Ecuador, Honduras and Thailand.
>> Anton from ThinkAqua was a co-author on the Global Shrimp Forum Foundation-funded industry guide on the Carbon Footprint of Shrimp.
>> ThinkAqua is partnering with Blue Food Performance on a project funded by Blue Carbon Plus (BC+) to understand the carbon footprint of innovative seacucumber farming models, mangrove-shrimp and crab-shrimp systems, and saltmarsh agriculture.
